Tigers in the Playoffs

September 24th, 2006 · 2 Comments
General Info

The Tigers today clinched a spot in the 2006 playoffs…and can now concentrate on trying to win the AL Central, and possibly wrap up the best record in all of baseball.

For perspective, the last time the Tigers participated in the post season was 1987. 19 years ago, I was a Senior in College, unmarried, was working 4 jobs, and was completely frustrated when my team was beaten 4-1 by the lowly Minnesota Twins…The Twins look like they will join the Tigers in the playoffs.

I will not be frustrated this year, no matter what the result. The Tigers were picked forth by most “experts” prior to the season, and with the win today, they reached 94 wins, and have posted the best record in the game again, moving just ahead of the Yankees and the Mets.

Tigers return to Detroit after clinching playoff berth.

They are in second place, but are in some danger of being passed by Toronto…they never recovered from the Boston Massacre II
