Under the category of rampant electoral pandering comes this gem of excessive litigation by our State Attorney General.
The state has set the emission standards, some of the toughest in the world, and the companies have met them…and now they are getting sued for doing so? My favorite part of the article might be this quote
But Sean Hecht, executive director of the Environmental Law Center at the University of California, Los Angeles, said the lawsuit has a “reasonable” chance of succeeding.
…Environmental Law Center at the University of California, Los Angeles? Did anyone know that there was such a thing? How, with such penetrating insight being shared at that institution is there such a thing? My prediction…this lawsuit, after wasting millions in California Tax Payer money, will go down in a blaze of glory. Imagine the long term effect of a lawsuit such as this being settled against the defendants….because by extension, anyone driving a car in the state is by definition an accessory to what has taken place.
